Latest happenings

Here's a post to catch up on a few of the fun things we've done in the past couple of weeks. On the 4th of July we went to the zoo and the girls really enjoyed the animals - although Molly seemed more enthralled with the huge balloons being sold at the entrance and seen with kids throughout the park! (And she even added the word "balloon" to her repertoire at that point. Note that "balloon" is her 4th word -after "uh-oh", "hi", and "up". We're wondering when she is going to start saying "mama" or "dada"! We're not bitter or anything :-)

Anyways, back to the zoo...here are some fun pictures. (And, by the way, Grandma treated the girls to the balloons on the way out of the zoo. So we had some happy, albeit tired, campers!)

The girls weren't able to attend their neighbor friend, Samantha's, birthday party last week because it was on a Sunday, but our neighbors were so kind to bring over some goodie bags. These sunglasses were a hit!

Cousins Ethan and Mallary came to stay with us overnight one day last week. They have been staying with my parents while Aaron's wife, Renee, has had major surgery up in Buffalo, NY. (She is doing well, by the way, and should be released from the hospital tomorrow - with a few weeks of recovery ahead of her.) It was fun for my mom to bring the kids up, including 10 month old Elliot, and for them to stay a while and play. They enjoyed the infamous whale kiddie pool and really enjoyed having a sleep over - even though it entailed less than enough sleep!

We had a fun picnic day on Saturday. First we went to a church barbecue and later in the afternoon we headed down to Akron for another barbecue with some of my high school friends. My, was it fun to see them! It had been a while, as with each passing child I seem to lose more and more touch with dear friends. But I'm glad we were finally able to get together and catch up some. We were missing a couple of our Chicago friends, Donna and April, but the rest of us Ohio girls met at Marcia's house in Akron - Courtney coming from East of Cleveland, our family from West of Cleveland, and Julie from Cincinnati. Our girls also had a blast - playing their kiddie version of cornhole and even peforming a singing puppet show with Mickey Mouse! "Corter" (Courtney) was the ringleader and together with Elizabeth and Molly, performed for us. (I regret not getting a pix of all of us together. As a result, Julie - and her bro - aren't represented here. Sorry Julie! Next time we really need to do a group pix.)

P.S. Greg took video of Elizabeth's singing performance and it is so, so cute I wanted to post it. (You can even hear a little of Molly singing along in the background.) But I'm still trying to figure that whole thing out, as we are very new to the video editing thing. It seems easy enough, but we're having issues. So hopefully I'll be posting it later! Check back!

FUN! I'd love to hear the video when you figure it out!
