More family miracles

I've been meaning to post this for over a week now. Some of you may have read the story about my brother's wife, Renee, having to undergo stomach surgery. (The 2nd half of the post "Playing in the Rain and Little Miracles" posted on July 23rd.) Well, last week we received the news that my sister's husband, Nate, had to have surgery to take out a portion of his intestine. Fortunately, in both cases, the diseased portions were found before cancer was able to come and spread. But it has still been a hard road for both young families - with surgery and the road of recovery afterwards. Renee was told that she was a breath away from developing cancer and Nate was told that if he would have waited one more year, it would have been too late. Both were only 31 years old when this happened. We consider it a miracle and a huge blessing that the Lord helped them catch these problems before it was too late. We are so grateful!

My sister has been an amazing example to me as she has dealt with this trial. The morning that Nate was to go in for surgery she said to me, (paraphrased) I can't feel bitter at all. There have been so many offers of help and an outpouring of love. We feel very blessed.

How grateful we are as family living far away that there are so many good friends and family that live near my sister's family (in Wyoming) who have helped and offered so much. The best news is that Nate came home from the hospital yesterday after a week's stay. He is still recovering and we continue to pray for him and his cute family.
